Hi, I'm Dean. I spent sixteen years in the Police involved primarily in Frontline duties, Diplomatic and Personal Protection work and strategic response group duties.
These roles all required a level of expertise in dealing with difficult people in sometimes high risk and volatile situations. In a training capacity I moved into the NZ Police Staff Safety Tactical Training unit and was involved delivering defensive tactics and skills to not only police staff in NZ but also to foreign police staff within the Pacific region.
I was also deployed as a member of the International Peace Monitoring Team to the Solomon Islands in 2001. Since leaving the Police and establishing ‘Allsafe’ I have been working with a range of different organisations exposed to the threat of workplace violence.
Working in partnership with these organisations we have developed safety and security strategies, and delivered training programmes to ensure the safety of staff from incidents of violence.
I hold the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, the NZ ICAM Investigations Qualification; plus I'm also a member of the NZ Institute of Safety Management and an Associate Member of the New Zealand Security Association.
With my background and experience I have a comprehensive understanding of what is required to help keep people safe in their workplaces.
